A Year Later

一年后 — 红月一年未现，城里的人忘了恐惧；药铺门口，来了一个叫「狼」的人。

A year later, the red moon has not returned. Streets are busy again; children race across the square. In the apothecary's back room, Iris sits on an old stool — red hair longer now, tied low, amber eyes still bright but shadowed underneath. In her hand she holds the elven emblem, a silver leaf that has turned blood-red. "One year. I've looked for you for a whole year."

一年后，红月没有再来。街道上人来人往，孩子们在广场上奔跑。药铺后堂，艾莉丝坐在旧木凳上，红发扎成低马尾，琥珀色眼睛依然明亮，眼底却多了一层化不开的阴翳。她手里握着那枚精灵族的银叶徽记——叶子已经变成了血红色。「一年了。我找了你一年。」

The Story

She knows the truth well enough: the Abyss gate holds, but Vince is still out there somewhere, waiting — waiting for the red moon to rise again. She is pressing the leaf to her chest when the apothecary door swings open.

她很清楚：深渊之门的封印很稳，但维恩斯还活着，在某个地方等着。等着红月再来。她正要把叶子贴回胸口——药铺的门被推开了。

A young man stands in the doorway — chestnut hair, deep green eyes, a grin made for trouble, an ill-fitting grey leather jerkin, an empty herb pouch at his belt. "Heard the surgeon here's sharp-tongued. And easy on the eyes." Iris's head snaps up, amber eyes wide. "...Lane?" The man grins. "Lane? Who's that? Name's — Wolf."

一个年轻男子站在门口。金棕色碎发，深绿眼睛，嘴角挂着欠揍的笑，穿着一件不合身的灰皮甲，腰间挂着一个空药囊。他开口：「听说这里的军医很凶。但长得好看。」艾莉丝猛地抬头，琥珀色眼睛睁大：「……雷恩？」男子笑了：「雷恩？那是谁？我叫——狼。」

Iris studies him — green eyes, yes, but no werewolf's slit pupils; no serpent birthmark on his wrist. "You're not him." The man shrugs: "Doesn't matter who I am. What matters is — you know what this is?" He pulls a palm-sized mirror from his coat. In the glass, a werewolf's face — exactly like Lane's.

艾莉丝盯着他的眼睛：深绿色，但没有狼人的竖瞳；手腕上也没有蛇形胎记。「你不是他。」男子不以为意：「我是谁不重要。重要的是——你认识这个吗？」他从怀里掏出一面巴掌大的镜子。镜面上，映着一个狼人的脸。跟雷恩一模一样。

⚡ The Hook
The werewolf in the glass smiles at her. Iris's fingertips nearly touch the mirror — the closest she has been to Lane in a year. She doesn't know the glass is showing her own reflection too.镜中的狼人朝她微笑。艾莉丝的指尖几乎碰到镜面——一年来第一次，她离雷恩这么近。可她不知道，这面镜子，也照着她自己的倒影。
