Dawn, the forest. Two layers to the seal: Vince on the outside, his people within, and beyond that — the Abyss. Lane says: "Then I won't break it." Iris looks at him and suddenly laughs: "You really a thief?"
The forest, dawn. Lane releases Iris's hand: "So two layers. The outer one's Vince. The inner holds my people. And beyond that—" "The Abyss." "If I break the seal to free my kind, the Abyss comes with it." "It does." "Then I won't break it." "Your people stay trapped forever." "Better that than unleashing the Abyss."
Iris looks at him and suddenly laughs: "You really a thief?" "What?" "A common thief, worrying about the fate of the world." "I steal things. Not lives. I told you that." "You did. And now I believe you."
As they speak, a low rumble shakes the earth from the deep woods. They turn together. At the mouth of the pit, the great mirror rises slowly — but this time the face in the glass is not Vince's. It is a wolf's face. A wolf's face identical to Lane's. His pupils contract: "Is that... me?" Iris's voice shakes: "No. That's your ancestor. The first werewolf."
五行相生相克 →The Abyss's Earth raises the mirror's Metal — the glass rising from the pit is Earth giving birth to Metal. Lane, Metal, refuses the seal: Metal will not contest Earth, choosing a hundred years of cages over loosing the pit. Wood watches from the side: Iris, Wood, overcomes Earth, and sees straight through to his Metal core.
八字十神详解 →Lane's "Rob Wealth" refuses lives — his whole craft is taking, yet before this choice he gives no ground: "Better that than unleashing the Abyss"; Iris's "Hurting Officer" spends one line worth a thousand — "now I believe you" is the Officer's honesty and the Seal's trust in one.
I'd rather be a half-visible thief." A direction is a reference, not a verdict — a thief weighing the fate of the world sounds like a joke; standing by it is a spine. Half-visible does not mean unlit.
