Into the Mirror

入镜 — she drives the sword through the glass and steps into white light; he is nearly gone.

In the ruins of the throne hall, Iris stands before the third mirror and drives the sword into the glass. White light swallows her. Inside the mirror world, Lane's form has nearly dissolved — "Here to collect what you owe," she says.

The Story

Interior, the throne hall ruins. Iris stands before the third mirror — its face sealed by the sword she drove in before. She pulls the blade out, Vince's black smoke still writhing along it, and sets the mirror on the ground: "Lane. I'm coming in." She drives the sword into the glass. The glass shatters, and white light swallows her.

The mirror world. Iris opens her eyes in a white void. Before her stands Lane — his form more ethereal than before, almost dispersing. He sees her, face twisting: "Are you out of your mind? Why'd you come in here?!" She steps right up to him: "Here to collect what you owe. Three hundred and three coppers. Plus interest. Plus a year of waiting. Plus — I missed you."

"You'll be stuck here forever!" "Then we'll be stuck together." She smiles: "You owe me a lifetime anyway. Paying it behind glass works just as well." She lifts the sword, Vince's black smoke writhing along the blade: "I trapped Vince inside it. Now we drive it into the crack of the Abyss gate. Then — we walk out together." "How do we get out?" "Your soul carries my blood. Mine carries your werewolf mark. We hold on tight, we cross together."

⚡ The Hook
Lane takes her hand. But his hand is dissolving. "Iris… I don't think I can hold on." She squeezes tight: "You can hold on. You haven't paid your debt. Not by a long shot." They turn to face the crack of the Abyss gate and, together, drive the sword into it.

Five Elements — The serpent key and the magic mirror are both Metal, the Abyss gate is Earth — Earth births Metal, Metal presses down Earth. Iris (Wood) drives the Metal sword through the glass, Wood cut by Metal yet willing. Lane (Metal) is nearly gone, tethered only by the blood (Wood's life) inside her. Metal and Wood clash — yet now they stand side by side to seal the gate.

Ten Gods — Iris is "Direct Seal" — crossing into the mirror to bring Lane out, shielding him like a seal; yet "plus I missed you" and "we'll be stuck together" are pure "Hurting Officer" honesty. Lane is "Rob Wealth" — always taking, never repaying — and now, afraid of dragging her down, he tries to send her away.

Wisdom — "What's the final payment? — A lifetime." Three hundred and three coppers, plus interest, plus a year of waiting, plus an "I missed you" — in the end, the balance is a whole lifetime. A direction is a reference, not a verdict: the debt isn't inside or outside the glass — it's in whether you choose to repay it together.「尾款是多少？
